Got a big date night coming up and want to make that extra effort for the special someone? I've got the step by step guide for you!
PREP
1: You need to prep that body, I'd recommend starting with shaving and exfoliating with a body scrub* to remove any dry skin, any flakiness (ew lol) and create a smooth base ready for the next steps!
2: If you're a hardcore fake tan gal, this is your time to shine. Whack that fake tan out - I'd recommend applying this a day or so before hand so you can wash off that top layer and remove any lingering fake tan smells.
3: If you're more of a gradual fake tan gal, I'd recommend trying something like the St Tropez In Shower Tanning Lotion to build it up a week or so prior to the date. At least this way you can see how intense you really want to go and whether you need to build it up a bit more.
4: Whether you've applied fake tan or prefer not to, I'd recommend moisturising your body to feel like a silky goddess, even if that's not something the other person will get to experience, it's a good confidence boost for yourself to be feeling silky and hydrated!
OUTFIT
For me, the outfit decides a lot of things, sometimes which body parts need fake tan (yes I'm that kinda gal), and it decides what kind of make up look I'll be going for - this is coming up next. So my top tips for outfit choices would be:
1: Wear something comfortable. The last thing you want is to be constantly pulling a dress down, worrying about how it looks, being itchy from the fabric etc. You want to feel confident in your outfit and OWN IT.
2: Pick an outfit suitable for the date environment. Going on a day date? Then go for something casual but glam - maybe a more casual outfit but a nicer make up look and your hair all cute. Going for cocktails? Maybe something sophisticated, elegant and practical to walk around in and something you feel comfortable sitting down in. Think of the date, what you will be doing, where you will be, what the weather will be like, and take all of these into consideration when choosing your outfit.
MAKE UP
Now onto the best part - the make up.
So as I've previously said, the make up depends on so many factors. What is your outfit like? Is it glam? Casual? Where are you going on your date? 3: Natural Everyday Gal - for our gals who like to look natural with a pop of bronzer and a soft lip that you don't have to worry about if it wears off!
